1994 – Merging of our Preston and Manchester studios
The Preston studio, where the practice was founded, closed and amalgamated with our Manchester studio where we have developed a strong presence in the city and region since 1956.
Over the past 20 years, the interdisciplinary team, currently led by studio head Gavin Elliott, has designed and delivered 16 RIBA award winning projects.
These include the regeneration and adaptive reuse of Oldham Town Hall, a Grade II listed building into a new cinema complex, St John Bosco Arts College, where inspirational learning spaces were created within a simple efficient building form, and Boxpark, a new pop up food and drink concept in Croydon and Wembley, London.
Also on the list are Liverpool One, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Manchester’s Ordsall Chord.
For every project, the studio strives to create beautiful, sustainable buildings and spaces that give people a sense of belonging and connectivity.
