1963 – First Communications Officer appointed

BDP was one of the first practices to embrace marketing through the establishment of a Communications Unit and employment of a communications officer, in 1963, even though at the time architects were not officially allowed by the RIBA Code to publicise themselves.

In 2020, I was appointed as the first Marketing Director with the exciting remit to strengthen our global brand and support our sustainable growth ambitions. Starting three days before the first Covid-19 lockdown made it a distinct start to a new role, but the professionalism, culture and support of colleagues through these unprecedented times has shown me why the practice has been so successful over the past 60 years.
