2014 – BDP win Lighting Designer of the Year

The lighting team won three categories at the Lighting Design Awards, including Lighting Designer of the Year for Mark Ridler, who has led the team since 2012. The judges said: “Mark’s work consistently excels year-in, year-out. His guiding hand has driven the success of some outstanding BDP projects including Trinity Leeds, the Fashion Room for the V&A and the transformation of Manchester Town Hall Complex. He preaches a common-sense approach to lighting and his work as Vice President of the Institution of Lighting Professionals has really helped bring the industry together.”

The lighting team continues to push boundaries through the low carbon Enterprise Centre for UEA which applies circadian lighting techniques, Land Securities HQ which champions wellness and human-centric lighting and a selection of projects for UCL which offer a variety of low energy lit environments for different activities, harnessing daylight where possible.
